How to Get Help

Pets In Need is dedicated to helping low-income pet owners experience the love and benefits of having a pet.

We primarily serve:

  • Households at or below 200% of the federal poverty level
  • Seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities
  • People experiencing homelessness

Many clients qualify through Medicaid, Medicare, or partner organizations. Pet owners self-identify eligibility, with income verification collected only when needed for grants or additional assistance.

What We Do

PIN provides low-cost veterinary care for individuals with income at or below the federal poverty level and those that have limited income like the elderly, veterans, those that are homeless, or have a disability.

Our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality veterinary care to allow individuals and families of limited means to enjoy the benefits of healthy and responsible pet ownership. Our Lockland clinic is the only full-time resource of its kind in Greater Cincinnati, serving over 4,000 pets each year.

Story of the Month: Support Changes Lives

Donna has been part of the Pets In Need family for over five years. When her dog, Chewy, began struggling to walk, she was heartbroken. The cost of care was more than she could manage until she came across our clinic.

Chewy received the care he needed. And when he was later diagnosed with cancer, Donna wasn’t alone. Our team supported her through the difficult goodbye, from compassionate euthanasia to cremation services. Today, Donna continues to rely on Pets In Need for her new dog, Nuno, who receives regular treatment.

“My pets are my family,” Donna says. “Knowing they’re getting the thorough, affordable care they deserve means everything to me.”

Stories like Donna’s remind us why our work matters and how access to care helps keep pets healthy and at home with the people who love them most.
